Individual therapy provides a time for exploration and problem-solving. It is an introspective process, meaning it’s about looking inside yourself – your thoughts, feelings, and dreams – and bringing more consciousness to the unconscious.

People seek individual therapy for many reasons. Some continue to be plagued by childhood experiences that hinder their adult lives.

Others want to explore options, better understand themselves, learn to set boundaries and communicate effectively, or make changes, such as seeking a new career path.

Consider individual therapy as one-on-one time with a trained individual who has your best interests at heart as you voice your innermost concerns. This would be hard to accomplish with friends and family.

Together, we will examine how you think and feel about yourself and how that affects your relationships.

It starts by building a trusting relationship; as we establish that relationship, you will feel more comfortable expressing your concerns.

I can help you get unstuck, feel more alive, know yourself, and BE yourself. That usually means opening yourself up to all your feelings.

It won’t always be easy, but neither will your continued suffering.

Expressing your thoughts and feelings is one of the best and most proven ways to help people get unstuck. Asking for help is an act of courage. Yes, it will be hard at first, but as we work together, speaking what is needed comes easier. This is when we can identify the issues and work on solutions.

Individual therapy takes time. If you are coming to therapy because you are looking for a quick fix or easy answers, I’m probably not the right therapist for you. Change rarely happens quickly or on demand.
